OUR MISSION
"We seek to be Transformed as we Encounter, Exchange and Extend Grace."
CORE VALUES
Grace Encountered:
We believe that life-changing grace is received through a genuine
encounter with God . We hold to the following values:
Revelation
We believe God speaks to us through Biblical and relevant
preaching and teaching. [2 Timothy 3:16]
Intimate Encounter
We believe that we should glorify God not from a distance, but
through intimate encounters of worship on Sundays and other
corporate gatherings. [Psalm 27, 42]
Transformation
We believe in transformation as people surrender every area of
life unto the Lordship of Jesus Christ. [2 Corinthians 5:17]
Presence
We believe that prayer is the most important response to the
presence of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit in the church.
[Acts 1:14-2:4]
Grace Exchanged:
We believe that to fully experience life-changing grace, it must
not only be received, but also exchanged among his people. We
hold to the following values:
Relationships
We believe that loving relationships should flow through every
aspect of church life. [1 John 3:11-17]
Refuge
We believe in church as a hospital, where broken people can come
as they are and find refuge and healing. [Matthew 11:28-30]
Household
We believe that church should be a spiritual household where
there are diverse seasons of life, generations, and cultures.
[Ephesians 2:19]
Body
We believe every member should build up the body of Christ with
their God-given gifts. [1 Peter 4:10]
Grace Extended:
We believe that life-changing grace never remains only among his
people, but goes forth into the world. We hold to the following
values:
To a broken community
We believe we are called to be ministers of grace to people
immediately around us—to our friends, neighbors, coworkers,
campuses, and to the DC metro area. [Matthew 5:13-14]
To a broken world
We believe that by going or sending, we become channels of grace
to a broken world. [Matthew 28:18-20]
To the oppressed
We believe we are called to be champions of grace to the poor and
oppressed. [Isaiah 61:1]
To a post-modern world
We are called to be translators of grace to a post-modern world.
[1 Corinthians 9:22-23]
