An Open Door to a Life Changing Gospel
Partner with ODPC EC in realizing the vision of our church
– “to be an open door to a life changing gospel”. We believe that the “life-changing gospel never remains only among his people, but goes forth into the world”. Going beyond the physical confines of our worship center, we believe that God has called us, along with you, to encounter, exchange and extend this life-changing gospel to the ends of the earth.
All contributions donated will be directed towards Missions work of ODPC.
The Dominican Republic missions team of 26 members is heading out April 4th – 10th , 2020 to serve people who work in the bateys (literally, “sugar town”) – or sugar cane fields. This is our fourth year serving the bateys. We will serve the batey children and children at our host pastor’s church with a Vacation Bible School and English lessons. We also plan to spend time with the adults in home visits where we will share the Gospel, pray, and distribute Feed My Starving Food packages that we packed earlier this year. We are grateful for your prayers and financial support for our ministry. Thank you!
Dear Family and Friends, We have terrific news to share of how God has opened another amazing opportunity for us to go and serve the Mexican people this spring. In 2020, a team of 46 men, women and youths from our church, Open Door Presbyterian Church (ODPC), will travel to Ensenada, Mexico to build a home — literally from the ground up—for a family and also host a Vacation Bible School at a local Mexican church. Our team will work with a missionary organization called YUGO Ministries (www.yugo.org), which connects other teams from the U.S. and Canada with the local churches to help care for the poor by building homes, facilitating feeding programs, providing emergency aid, organizing children’s programs, and running children's homes. This spring, we will be working with YUGO’s Construction and Outreach Ministry in building relationships in Mexico in Christ’s name. We cannot do this alone. Would you partner with us? Financially, each member of the team must raise approximately $700 by April 1, 2029, to help pay for the costs of travel, lodging, and the materials needed for building the home. You can contribute in several ways: hand it to one of us; mail it to ODPC (2999 Centreville Road, Herndon, VA 20171); or give online via this site. To ensure that your contributions are routed correctly, please be sure to note “Mexico” on your check (payable to ODPC) or on PayPal (in the Merchants Notes section). Most importantly, we need your prayers! Even if you are unable to support us financially, please pray for us. For about a half of the members on the team, this will be a first mission trip to Mexico. Yet we are all excited to be able to volunteer, go, and experience the amazing gift of giving physically and spiritually to impact a family in Mexico. But even more, we believe that God will use this opportunity to bless each of us in ways that will expand our capacity to love and serve. We ask and invite you to pray with us and for us—that we grow deeper in love with God and with those He loves, that we experience the joys of being his hands and feet through service, and that we safely return from our journey with great testimonies of Christ’s love.
