Dear Friends,
We are the ODPC India Missions Team 2016 who will be traveling to India from November 2-13, 2016 in partnership with Freeset ministry, a fair trade business that offers employment to women trapped in Kolkata’s sex trafficking.
During majority of the trip, we will be in Murshidabad (~5 hour car ride from Kolkata) with Pastor Bashir, a partner of Freeset and who ministers in a village where many women are sold or pressured into the sex-trafficking to Kolkata. During our time in India, we will be doing children’s ministry, helping with medical clinic run by Pastor Bashir’s wife, ministering to a group of villagers who are predominantly Muslims, as well as visit Freeset factories and learn about the ministry. We also hope to learn and build stronger relationship with Pastor Bashir and the local people of Murshidabad.
We are truly excited and grateful that God has given us this opportunity to experience and participate in what He is doing in India. And we would love for you to partner and journey with us in this amazing adventure. We believe without the support of our friends and family especially through prayer, our trip would not be as impactful or powerful. Therefore, we desperately covet your prayers.
Some of our prayer requests are:
• Spiritual and physical protection and safety of the team
• Pray that the people we interact with will be able to experience Christ’s love through the overflow of Christ’s love for us
• Our families as most of the team members are parents leaving behind their spouses and children
